Founded in 1922 and headquartered in Mönchengladbach, the third generation of the family business supplies fashionable legwear. The trousers are distinguished by their elegant design and convince with their longevity and high wearing comfort.

The company is internationally successful: ALBERTO supplies 2,500 areas in 56 countries and carries the company claim "Pants We Love" into the world.

Overview

The Challenge

Last year, we at INTEX developed our first proprietary AI tool, "IX Content AI," with the goal of streamlining workflows for product descriptions and webshop content. As a first step, we secured our long-standing customer ALBERTO as a pilot client to support us in the setup and further development of the tool.

At the heart of IX Content AI is a web application directly connected to IX Fusion, as well as interfaces to OpenAI and Intex's own AI models. This has created a powerful platform that allows for unrestricted and free work with AI – right up to the transfer of valid data back into the ERP system. Building on this foundation, we have implemented additional functionalities that enable more efficient workflows and perfectly integrate three core areas:

The Requirements

ALBERTO was looking for an industry solution with complete functionality, in which existing business processes were to be optimized by a new software system. The task was to find a partner who was able to cover the requirements from a standing start with its standard. The need for immediate implementation ruled out costly analysis and adjustments.

The evaluation process was quickly completed: The INTEX system already took into account all the special features of the industry in the standard, there was nothing to prevent commissioning within a few days. So the decision for INTEX was made within a very short time.

The Solution

AI-Generated Product Descriptions Tailored to Your Needs

Creative and adaptable product descriptions in various languages ​​can be generated for all items in a collection at the touch of a button. The associated attributes from the ERP system and product images ensure the validity of the results. The ability to edit and rate the texts continuously improves the quality and authenticity of the results. Additionally, generated texts can be optimized through interaction with the editor, for example, by adding comments regarding style, seasonal themes, or other details. This speed and versatility makes it possible to generate specific texts for different channels – even down to the color level. The requirements of each sales channel can be defined, and the corresponding product descriptions can be generated precisely to fit.

AI-Generated Price Suggestions

This module assists with pricing by providing well-founded recommendations for price ranges and even specific price suggestions. The model incorporates information on similar items in your collection, comparable items online, your target audience, and your market position. The original selling price from your ERP system is provided for comparison. Additionally, a clear explanation for the suggested price is generated. The suggested price can be manually adjusted and transferred back to the ERP system.

In the medium term, a more complex background analysis will be implemented, incorporating exogenous data such as market trends, inflation, and country-specific purchasing power, for example, based on the current gross domestic product.

AI-Driven Categorization

The manual categorization of each individual item for the various sales channels is replaced by AI-driven categorization. In the selected sales channel, the images of the items are analyzed, and the items are automatically assigned to the channel-specific categories. If the model detects a category that is missing from the existing ones, this new category is suggested and can be adopted by the user.

NEW: Order Forecast

Based on the positive experiences with these three modules, the desire arose to further leverage this potential and to provide additional useful AI assistants in other parts of our system in the future to make work easier.

ALBERTO approached us with the request to analyze the ordering behavior of his customers. For this purpose, we trained an internal INTEX AI model that analyzes a customer’s ordering rhythm and can predict the next order date with only a small deviation of a few days.

All customers who have not placed another order beyond a defined period are made available for evaluation in Business Objects. This enables sales representatives to monitor their customers and contact them in a targeted manner in order to jointly identify and resolve the causes of delayed repeat purchases.

Efficiency Gains Through Automated Combination

These three modules can be automated to such an extent that, upon arrival of a new sales item in the application, specific texts are generated in the background, categorization is performed, and price validation takes place. The user simply checks and validates the final result.
